We stayed in Baltimore one night more than planned. There was a big rain storm that produced flooding nearby and washed a ton of debris and trash into the harbor.
When we left we headed for the C & D canal that connects the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware Bay. It is a busy shipping lane with an interesting history. Originally the canal was hand dug by 2,000+ laborers. It is now maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers.
We stayed the night on free town docks in Chesapeake City MD. In this little harbor town we finally ate some blue crabs. With as many crab pots I’ve dodged, we owed them some revenge.
