Our first day of boating went well. It was about 65 miles due east up the Caloosahatchee River to Lake Okeechobee. Under the watchful eye of Captain Al, George started to get the hang of operating the boat. The trick is to constantly switch between looking around, looking at the chart plotter, and looking at the depth finder.
We stayed on the boat that night at the Rollin Martin marina in Clewiston Florida. The restaurant was good. We enjoyed the gator bites, but weren’t 100% convinced that they weren’t actually chicken nuggets.
